Waiting on fireworks
Peyton was so good with all of the waiting that goes with Edmond fireworks. He packed his bag but didn't use his toys or snacks very much. He was happy to sit and watch people with the rest of us. Even Peyton would say the wait was worth the show- he is still talking about the 'snowballs'. (white fireworks)

11 O'Clocks
Guess what this is...
My gorgeous 4 O'Clocks at 11:30 at night. Can't see them? I KNOW!!!!
They are SOO pretty and so healthy but (I guess) its so hot they only open at around 11:00. I thought there was something wrong with them because during the day they are closed but otherwise look great. And then I took the trash out or something late at night and noticed that they are all completely open and showy overnight. That's nice.

Water Bubbles
It is just too hot to be outside this summer and, well, we like to be outside. So we are trying misters and lights on the deck. So far so good. Between the mist and the wind its actually pretty nice out there. This is actually a horrible picture of the lights. In reality they have more of a glow instead of the streaky neon look the picture shows.
P90X is for everyone!
The "Stretchy Part"
Downward Dogging it
The "Punchy Part"
I think Peyton and Tony (the video leader) have bonded.

A Peyton & Mommy Weekend
Brandon left town for a boys' golf trip this weekend so Peyton and I had big plans.
Friday night we played at the mall with Nana, Kristine & Joe. The play area got boring after a while but there was a thunderstorm outside so we walked around a bit to wait out the rain. We found some hats along the way.
Then we went home for our first slumber party. Just Peyton and the Bobo's and me.
We blew up the air mattress, popped some popcorn, had some 'dog bones' (Scooby Snack graham crackers in the shape of dog bones) and watched Cars. It was so fun we were both asleep before midnight!
Saturday we were up before 7 watching cartoons and working in the garden. Our plants are getting ready to go crazy (I hope!). We have several little green tomatoes and I can't wait to see them when they're ready. This year we are growing grape tomatoes and Black Krim heirloom tomatoes. We have tiny little squash and flowers on all the other vegetable plants.
By noon it was too hot to be outside without water, so we headed to Nana's neighborhood pool for some relief. Peyton spent almost all of the time jumping into the pool. He's getting very brave and very brown already this summer.
Sunday afternoon was even hotter but the pool was very crowded. Peyton had picked out a new water ring for Sunday so he tried it out (and was able to "swim" on his own with it!) for a little while but then we retreated to Nana's backyard for some slip & sliding. Then it was time to return to the reality of Sunday evening with laundry and baths and dishes.
We had such a fun summer weekend! Now we are ready for Daddy to come home and ready for some normal bedtimes so we can gear up for the next summer weekend!

Food Blogging - Peyton Style
Friday Night Burrito al Fresco
Memorial Day Weekend Ice Cream
Breakfast on the Patio
(that's an egg on an english muffin- somehow it looks like a donut on my computer. I don't know why.)
OK - on this one I need to stop and congratulate Peyton & Kashi.
Peyton actually ate THREE pieces of Kashi pizza!! And all of his broccoli- but he loves broccoli so that wasn't such a surprise. I try to capitalize on the few healthy foods Peyton eats willingly. Peyton loves pizza but I do not love all of the grease and nitrates and fat and carbs that make pizza so delicious. I have tried several healthier versions of pizza to no avail. It always ends with Peyton telling me that 'this is not pizza'. But Kashi makes a pizza that passes the Peyton AND mom tests!!!
Mom tests: healthy enough to eat on a regular basis - under $5 per person - ready in under 30 minutes
Proof.
Also- the Starbucks cup is the same one in all of the pics. Peyton and I have gotten into a Starbucks habit lately. There is nothing better on a sweltering Saturday morning of running errands than a Grande Apple Juice. Unless it is a Trenta Iced Coffee. And the bonus- you get a super cool Starbucks cup (with a straw!) to drink your water and milk out of for the rest of the weekend.
